IT was a tough night in the Championship last night for John Fleck and Blackpool  as the Tangerines were on the end of a heavy defeat to West Ham.

Sam Allardyce's side returned to the top of the table with a 4-1 victory over the Seasiders in which Fleck played a full 90 minutes.

With results elsewhere also going against Ian Holloway's men, the Bloomfield Road side are now out of the play off places in the Championship.

And the result was all the harder to take given that the visitors had their goalkeeper, Robert Green, sent off with 25 minutes left to play and completed the game with midfielder Henri Lansbury in goal.

Blackpool will now look to get back on track at the weekend when they are on the road again for a trip to face Derek McInnes's Bristol City.

There was better news for fellow loan stars Darren Cole and Kal Naismith as Partick Thistle secured a 4-2 home win over Ayr in the First Division.

Naismith was again among the substitutes, but Cole, celebrating a call up to Scotland's under-21 set up this week, completed 90 minutes again in the Thistle back line.

There was also victory for Blair Currie, the youth keeper on loan at Hamilton. The youngster again spent the 90 minutes on the Accies bench as they ran out 2-1 winners over Raith Rovers.
